I have a new article up at SL News Network (SLNN)!!

My article, entitled "Brought to You by the Letter T" has been posted on the SLNN site. I interviewed designers Talyn Barrett (Analise silks) and Abby Coalcliff (Devilish Cupcake & Analise). I hope you enjoy it!

I am already working on my next article in this 'Day in the Life' interview series. Are there designers about whom you are especially interesting in reading? Let me know!!

P.S. Please share with me your biggest fashion issues/problems for a new column the SLNN Style Team will produce. You may email me or leave a comment. I will keep you anonymous unless you tell me it is ok to use your name. Thank you!!! <3

  1. One fashion issue I've noticed recently: several newer designers make their skirts no mod, which leaves uniquely sized avatars out in the cold.
Another issue is full-bright turned on for flexy skirts, so the skirt doesn't match the base glitch pants or the tops because of different lighting on the skirts. You can't see it on the photo/vendor of the item before you buy it, so ads are misleading. The issue of full-bright also creates a more glowy skirt in Windlight.

Final issue for now: people complaining about facelights as if they were bling. Facelights ARE the new bling for some people because of some issue where the client only recognizes 6 separate lighting sources, so a face light (or 3) interferes with lighting on certain builds. What do fashionistas think of this issue, since facelights for fashionistas are important accessories?

Great idea to ask about fashion issues :)

  2. Tymmypants, your article is going down a treat, you may officially label yourself a superstar reporter :)

And cheers for putting the word out there about the style advice, too...I've now put a full explanation up on my own blog. I hadn't thought to before, just as well you're on the ball or where would we be?!

Sans, these are wonderful, what a fantastic start!

  4. Loved the article :-) You are on your way up through ranks of hard hitting journalists. Don't back off the "T" mystery. Methinks there is more to the story than they are letting on. I bet you will win a SLulitzer Prize by next year! Hm, fashion issues. Why do so many men's clothes not fit a tall man (appearance never can lower the shirts enough). Ok, maybe being 10' tall is not the norm.. well then again in SL, one never knows. But I often see my midriff bare when I do not want it to be (do men have a midriff? I meant to say my six pack or rock hard abs :-). I think SL clothes should come in S, M, L - designed for 3 basic heights. I mean once you design something for M, isn't it just a case of scaling to the other 2? Then again, maybe the clothes are purposely made that way. SL is all about showing off ones sexy skins right?

  5. Behind ever good journalist is a GREAT editor - so TY, Willow!

Sans - I do not know what I would do without my facelights. I slove them, even when they annoy my darling Jerremy. Great issues for the SLNN column, too!!! TY!

Sysperia - that is PROOF that the Lindens are just a bunch of perverts.

I do not mind you showing off your rock hard...midriff, Jerremy. But most SL men are extra tall, so I have always wondered why designers do not meet this need better.

  7. I personally swear by my Bodylight by Ayiki (free in their store or at their booth at the Skin Fair this month) but it is 4 (maybe 5?) separate small lights. They sit close to your face so they do not get blocked easily. I also like the RaC beauty light that I got free with a demo skin in their shop since it is just one light - but people and things get in the way sometimes and cause shadows. (I do not wear Rac Skins - I just use the light that I kept from the demo folder sometimes.) I have no idea what works with Windlight though. Great idea for an article!!
