Lazy way to find a DJ

Kids - I need you help I am looking for a DJ for some events coming up. I'd like to be able to go listen to them play for a bit if possible. I think you must know some of the best. This person should not make giant howling coyotes in chat or "hoooooooo" too much. I would also like someone who will accept a handsome flat fee and not collect tips from my guests during the parties. I want a good mix of music from the 70's disco era through today - absolutely no Cat Stevens or Meatloaf must be played. I am looking for dance tunes to keep energy high and appeal to an audience of hip people. Must be willing to play NIN Closer and Add It Up by the Violent Femmes plus contemporary tunes. I know it is a tall order.

Know anyone? Please give me your suggestions!

  1. Tempest Jewell!
She DJed at the last ORcas party and will be DJing again Wednesday.

  2. Malu Zhao .. she's the best dj around..she will play any style you want.. she have experience as a dj on SL for about a Year now.. and she was a steady dj for the Reforma sim .. playing her music every 2 days. She's mexican..but she can speak to her. She also has a very sweet voice. A pro as a dj on SL.

  3. Heliotropic Unsustainable. She DJs a regular set once a week and has an encyclopedic knowledge of music. Plus, she's very professional. (IRL she's been in the music scene on the west coast for quite some time.)

  4. You might want to consider Balp Allen, who you have heard at my rezzday party. I'm sure he will settle for a fixed fee instead of tips and I know he can play NIN ;)

  5. Well, you could ask me...:-)

I don't do gesture spam; I have ONE custom gesture to solicit requests that spits out about 3 lines of text, and I don't use it that often. I can work flat-rate and not set out my "tip penguin" if need be. 70's disco and 80's are a couple of my specialty areas; I also do a good selection of modern dance tunes and some more exotic stuff, but I'll generally play almost ANYTHING by request. I have been known to play both NIN "Closer" and Violent Femmes "Add It Up" (that's the actual title of that song, BTW) in the past; both are good songs. If you want to hear more, I'll be on at Lexxistential Deviances in Lexxotica tonight (3/14) and Sunday night (3/16), 7-9 PM SLT.

    - Erbo Evans aka "DJ CoolJ"

  6. Nomad Rovio... does 2 regular gigs a week (see his profile) and works in the music busniess irl. Plus has a sexy accent ;)

  7. Syriana Paine does a wonderful job. I'm sure she could handle your DJ needs.
