Alicia Chenaux has hinted that we need to post to entertain each other while the grid is down. OK - well, here are some possible activities to fill your time waiting.
First, let me remind my fellow bloggers that Jerremy and I are hosting the next Blogger party/meeting on April 20th from 1-4 SLT. The details are in my sidebar. Do you realize that not a single one of you has emailed or IM'd to get a "Hello my name is...." sticker for the party yet? Shame on you. I'll give a prize for what Jerremy and I find to be the most creative use of the 7 spaces available on the name tags. Make sure you IM me with what is/will be on your tag! I would hate to miss a great one because I was distracted dancing. If you are truly bored while waiting for SL to come up, then trying to think up what will go on your name tag might be be a good activity for you. You can use numbers, letters and spaces - just like a license plate.
Since the theme of the party is S'More Stuff to Blog About we'll also have prizes for the top two camping/things you find in the woods/S'more themed costumes. That is three prizes plus chocolate wrestling!!! What more can you ask for in a party?
Next random thought: I have been blogging for a little over 6 months at this point and I thought back over some of my favorite posts in that time. I think that my two of my favorite posts have been Nice Shoe and Above AVerage. If you are truly bored, reading those might entertain you for a while.
Final random thought: Toilets in SL - yes or no? If you are truly bored weigh in in the topic, please.
Hope to see you in SL soon!

ETA: For those who were looking for it the prim baby post from January (Knocked Up While the Grid is Down) is here!

ummm ... what a thought. I accept toilets in SL(R,TM) as a backdrop or prop where it makes sense. And I even saw one funny prefab of one which was a freebie. I dont think I would use one in SL(R,TM, KMA) though, because
ReplyDeletea) there is no visual representation of me with skirt or pants down
b) the only alternatives would be to take *off* the clothes, which is somewhat weird or
c) leave them on, which is, I beg your pardon, even somewhat weirder.
But then again, you never know, probably someone already has SL(R, TM)-OB's (R,TM) on sale and thousands of female residents wear them each day because they talk to you like these other attachments ... ok, I get carried away here ...
... and btw, I find the thought rather optimistic that the failure of the world as part of this larger right wing conspiracy we all know could be over on April 20th already. But, okay, hope dies last ...
ReplyDeleteMore potty for the party.
ReplyDeletePro-toilet.
Toilets in SL are bit odd, it's not like we consume a lot of food to have a need for a waste facility. I will never have a toilet in my SL house, it's a waste of precious prims, prims that are better used on say.. a shower :)
ReplyDeleteTenshi(I believe) has a "Mooning" set of jeans in her store, if people need to use the potty, maybe her set can be incorporated somehow?
By the way, your Blog post that made me laugh until I was crying was the one on Prim Babies. I looked through a few months of your posts as I remeber it being fairly recent, but I couldn't find it.
Keep up the great work, I love your Blog! I just wish I was a blogger so I could attend your blogger parties, they sound like a lot of fun too.

Like miriam, I struggle with the pants down/off issue. On the other hand, if there are no bathrooms, where is one to drag her girlfriend when it becomes necessary to escape a date gone bad or discretely remove a misplaced shoe from one's backside? Oh wait...that's what we have IM and Edit Appearance for. ::sigh:: So, yeah, waste of prims on my sim, but if others have them to spare...knock yourselves out.
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog, Tymmerie! loves it *S
Hiya, Everyone! LOL thanks for weighing in!! I am fairly prim stingy but my bathroom looks odd without a toilet...oh decisions, decisions!!!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know that the prim baby post (Knocked Up While the Grid is Down) was in January of this year and I edited this post to add a link to it.
You guys flatter me so - thank you so much for reading my blog!!!!
I think that it would be a really fun activity in SL if there was maybe a HUD we could wear to tell us to go pee or eat or sleep and we had appropriate furniture or prim food we could use to help ourselves. Almost like The Sims, but for SL, and of course not all the time since that may get a bit annoying if you're in the middle of making "whoopee," as they called it in The Sims, and suddenly you fall asleep or wet yourself in the middle of it.
ReplyDeleteAlicia - omg rofl...and that explains why SL is better than Sims. Whoopee???? What are they some 1970's game show? It is bad enough that I have to eat, sleep and use the ladies room in RL while in SL. Is Sims not as addicting as SL? (I have never played so I am truly curious.)
ReplyDeleteBefore SL, I really enjoyed The Sims. But I was never as addicted to it as I am to SL, and that just has to do with the people I know. Sometimes I think about playing The Sims again just for fun, but after SL, I don't think it would be very much fun...well, except for starting fires and making people drown in the pool by taking the ladder out of it.
ReplyDeleteOMG - SIMS is just sick, I tell you! Sick! /me walks off shaking her head.
ReplyDeletetoilets just for looks ... no!
ReplyDeletetoilets as a funny props... yes!
Rustic Woodness (I think thats the name) has a very funny outhouse with pose. Check it out! :)
