Special day today...

Here I am lounging on my couch. Thinking. Thinking that I have been a naughty blogger lately. I have several posts in the works, but just have not gotten around to finishing them. They need some bang, some pizzazz. I have been relying on pictures too heavily lately.

But I am also lying here thinking about what a special day today is. Today is my wedding
anniversary. My wonderful husband, Jerremy Darwin, wished me a Happy Anniversary Eve last night and we will so something special later today. I think I'll be smiling all day long. Since it is our anniversary, this post needs a picture of the two of us. One that you people have not seen yet. This was taken at the wedding reception of friends of ours - Night Singh and Margo Sciarri. (Night and Margo gave us the sex toaster.) But this photo is from over a year ago. Hmmmmm. We really do need to take some more recent pictures of ourselves. (Honey - if you are reading this, we need to take some pictures of ourselves.)

We've been planning our anniversary party for a couple of weeks now. it is kind of amusing to us how when one of us gets an idea it inspires the other and then the other gets inspired and back and forth until we have a monster sized idea that we are just giddy about. And a bit crazed. There are details of our party plans and decor that will go completely unnoticed by anyone but us, but that we think are hilarious.

I made our invitation. I didn't think I could make something I would like, but it's not half bad, if I do say so myself. I was aiming for something more kitschy, however my building/design skills are limited. Here is a picture of it:

Here is the party set up (I told you; Jerremy and I get carried away.): On July 26th 2008, Jerremy and I left the reception to start our honeymoon. But - gasp! - the guests at the reception never left! They have been eating and dancing for a whole year! So, the anniversary party will revisit the reception! Now, Jerremy and I have been half-joking that we are on a year-long honeymoon (I say half because it is true - this year has been one long honeymoon.). So the invitation is the door to a honeymoon suite. But look closely at the newspaper, The Ghambt Sim Gazette, on the room service tray outside of the door:

Oops - let me get a closer view for you:

(You can make our own newspaper here.)

Yes!! The media have gotten wind of the "Endless Reception"!!!!

Now, originally we had what I think of as a very elegant wedding with a tasteful reception in our garden courtyard. But Jerremy and I got talking about family weddings and we decided to set the party in a reception held in a gymnasium at a community center. So, this is a bit more true to life. And yes, my typist has actually helped decorate for family weddings where tissue paper streamers were strung between basketball nets. I'll save pictures of the inside for later this week since we are still building and decorating.

I hope you all have as good of a day as I plan to! TTYL!

P.S. to Jerremy: HONEY!! I love you!! Happy Anniversary! This year has been wonderful - and the best is yet to come!!

  5. A whole year? Fancy that!

It took me two clicks to pick up your door again; it is heavy.

May you continue to be as mushy and lovey dovey towards each other for the next several years of honeymoon!
