Haunted Homemaker

I cannot believe that this will be my third Halloween in Second Life.

Just like last year, I decorated and set out some Halloween snacks at Starting Point (the new resident dorm I run with my husband, Jerremy). I think this is an expression of my inner Room Mother or something. I actually did less by way of actual decorating than usual years. I just stuck a cookie basket on the coffee table and Jack O' Lanterns and a seasonal wreath on the fireplace.

Now I realize that this gives the impression that my typist lives in a home that is totally decorated for every holiday down to the towels in the guest bathroom, but this is incorrect. In fact, my typist can barely be arsed to put up a stocking at Christmas. And she doesn't cook. So, there is zero chance of getting any holiday food either. I guess things are just easier to do in SL? I have no clue.

I set out some bags of candy, candy apples, suckers, gummy worms, caramels, "bloody" fruit punch and popcorn balls. I also found the cutest paper napkins, paper cups and table. Do you think it is hokey? You do? Why do you hate America? (I'm kidding - I just always wanted to say that.)

Anyhoo, I had originally been playing with the idea of having a buffet at our Halloween party next week. But, it would be such a stark contrast to the gore inside of our mad scientists castle that I opted not to do one. But that will not stop me from showing you what I was thinking of doing. See below:

I have prepared a feast for the senses - from the revolting sounds of the hear still beating as it rests on a silver tray, to the spongy feel of the pickled eyeballs to the scent of the Confusion Potion bubbling in its cauldron! Bwah ha ha ha ha! (And actually the beating heart spooked one Starting Point resident out enough that he left while I took the picture.) My gawd was I in love with the idea of serving everything on a blood covered table cloth.

Now, I don't usually do this since this is not a review-style blog, but I am going to list some of the places where I bought these items because I know that some of you might be looking for decor for your own homes and parties. I got the bloody table, ax, knife and spell at Tasty Prims / Halloween House & Store. The beating heart on a tray, "bloody" punch, black and orange table cloth, paper napkins, cups are from Halloween by Pondlife. The lady fingers, pickled eyeballs, caramels, gummy worms, suckers, candy bowl, popcorn balls and candy apples are from Divivity. I bought the cider, candy bowl and blood fountain from  Naughty Nibbles.

Don't be shy about IMing me if you are looking for something specific. I have been to a zillion shops this year for tons of Halloween items (lots that is not shown in these two pictures) and might be able to direct you to a place to find what you need.

Ciao for now!

Wait...there will be no food at the party? Well, guess I don't need to bring my big purse. LOL
