I've Lost It

I was shopping yesterday in RL when I saw a really nice leather chair. And I thought to myself, I should get that for Jerremy's office! It's perfect!

Duh! I am losing it. I am sharing this with you because I am sure you have done this before yourself. In fact, someone Plurked (Add me!) about looking for a pixel sweater in their RL closet this morning. I also remember telling you all about a time Jerremy started looking at barbecue grills in RL until he remembered we only needed one in-world.

Is our 3D world truly that immersive? Or all we all slowly going bonkers?

That is why I made an appointment with my "psychiatrist", Runestar Twine. (SL is the only place I can think of where you can get therapy from an elf.) He tells me that it all stems from my childhood. This makes sense since as a kid, I expected to arrive at my Dreamhouse when I came home from school. But I was always disappointed to arrive at our elevator-less suburban home.

  1. I spent 5 minutes one morning searching for a pair of shoes that I KNEW I owned.

Yeah, I own them. In SL.

Of course, being that my RL closet is about as disorganized as my SL inventory, there was always the chance that I had a pair similar!

  4. I've caught myself looking in RL jewelry shops for the kind of bangles I needed to complete an oufit.

  5. I've been reading your blog a while now, but this is my first comment. :p

I was RL shopping with my best friend last week when I came upon a pair of heels and went, "Oh, I have a pair like this... in SL." Her eyes had opened wide enough for me to see her roll them.

    Cheers,
    Tashi
