Indecision

If I made a list of words that described me, indecisive would be near the top. My indecisiveness isn't helping me as I consider the idea of stopping my 365 blog project.

I enjoy doing it, but I've changed the way I blog in order to accomplish a post a day. I sort of feel like I'm in a type of limbo; I'm not writing a lot, so I'm not a writing blogger, but I'm not a fashion/review blogger, either. And I'm certainly not a photographer, so I can't even pretend to be that.

My SLife is fun, but not so exciting that there are things to blog about each and every day. Posting daily is great for "branding." I'm in people's faces every day! And being in people's faces plus $4.50 will get me a Starbucks' triple, grande, no whip mocha. On days I'm busier than usual, I'm not able to give you my best here. But sometimes, when I just put something together on the fly, it works out better than when I think about something. I've learned to not over-think posting so very much. That's a definite positive.

I'm not sure if it's a clear choice between quality and quantity. If it was, it'd be easy. 

Paying a Visit

Today, I got a heads up about the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall in SL. (Find out more about this sim here.) I have visited the real thing before. The sim is beautifully done. Like the RL Wall, it is silent, informative and sobering.

Shapes & Cute Prefabs on Sale!

 

A friend of mine, Hybrid Ansar of Savoir Faire Shapes and Not Too Shabby prefabs is having a sale! This is really cute stuff!

The prefabs are copy/mod and have the cutest textures! I am standing inside the Hot Pink Cityscape Sky Box pouring drinks. (That is the color change 5th & Oxford cocktail bar  and stools - it matches perfectly.)

The shapes are also copy/mod and include style cards for the looks on the vendors. There are both male and female shapes. If you want to freshen your look, check the shop out!

A Sandwich Short of a Picnic

As I set out my picnic basket in SL and look forward to RL picnics, I started wondering what the Linden Lab company picnic will be like. Do they have one? Is there a big planning committee? Do they just hire caterers? Who will win the three legged race? What about the water balloon toss? Does everyone automatically let the single letter Lindens win all the time?

Spherical Tip

Today, I am scouting a location for a romantic picnic. I want to do something special with Jerremy this holiday weekend.  I think I am ready to disclose my super secret RL family recipe for potato salad to Jerremy. With two - count 'em - TWO secret ingredients along with crunchy pickles, sweet onions and love, it is the best potato salad ever. The recipe is practically my dowry. He will attack me with love once he tastes it. 

I would give it to you too, but you haven't even taken me out to dinner. (But, I am nice so there is a clue to one of the secret ingredients hidden in this post.)

Reason #324 Why RL Should Be More Like SL

I'm home from my trip and dressed much more comfortably than my av. I would love to wear super high, super sexy heels in RL when I travel. I adore super high SL shoes that you know were designed for looks only -- never for actual walking. In SL, your flight never arrives at gate 1,324B - which means a four hour walk to baggage claim. While there are forced landing spots in SL, you can fly even when flying is turned off. (TIP: Select 'Show Administrative Options' in the advanced menu to override no fly zones.) If anyone knows how to override the no-fly thing in RL, please share the instructions.

All work...

...and no play makes Tymmerie a dull girl. Therefore, this Plurk break (Add me!) is actually good for me... and my employer. Really. 

Making a Splash

I am making a choice to not be cranky after hours and hours of leading team building exercises today. :-D Being "on" all day sapped some energy, so I am relaxing with room service right now. I am letting my av swim in a virtual hotel pool since it is still a bit too chilly where I am to do that in RL.

It was actually a great day and we at a very pretty ski lodge. (I need to get outdoors more than I have been lately. In the afternoon, a horse wandered by a window of the room we were in and I thought to myself, "Hmmm....it doesn't have a collar on, so it must be lost." Hello? Horses are not dogs.)

Anyway, we did "personality tests" on everyone today. This made me wonder if anyone has done research to determine if our avatars are the same personality types as we are in RL or if, perhaps, we are even stronger versions of ourselves. I think I am a less inhibited version of my RL self in SL, but I'm still basically me.

Boing!

Hi! I am just testing the springiness of the hotel bed! It's quite bouncy. I think it will do fine. (I really wish I had taken a picture of my dismount. It was awesome.)  This is a business trip, but I wish Jerremy was with me: two people bouncing on beds is even more fun.

No, but I did stay at a SLoliday Inn Express last night.

*GASP* This is the fanciest Motel 6 I have ever been in. I hope they have high-speed internet.

Although I dislike the idea of merged SL/RL identities, I don't eschew the RL/SL thing altogether. I love trying to recreate RL situations/places in the cartoon world. I have no idea why. Is it because of the thrill it gives me that someone has thought to make something for me to discover? Maybe. It could also be the same basic underlying phenomenon that inspires people to build models of the Eiffel Tower out of popsicle sticks. That phenomenon? Cuteness.  

For eons, human beings have sought to create cuteness. Those famous prehistoric cave paintings in France? Why, those are the cutest horses and bison I have ever seen. Now, consider all the ooo'ing and ahhh'ing over prim bunnies.

Anyhoo, I actually haven't gotten this far in RL yet. My RL suitcases are lying on the floor, open and half-filled. I'm trying to make cute outfits for each day of my trip. Hmmm....this task is a lot more fun in SL.

Up in the Air

I decided to take today's picture in an airport and JetDoll was the perfect setting. They even have dollarbies for sale on the luggage carousel - so cute. 

This weekend I am packing for a business trip. It should be a good one, except for that parts that have to do with actually traveling. In RL, I'm certain that they would not stand for my posing on top of the security equipment. In RL, I'll be barefoot and anxious as I wait to see if my bra sets off the metal detector. Please remind me to take my emery board out of my purse - otherwise I'll end up on the ground in handcuffs just before boarding time. 

In SL, to stay safe as well as to make the travel experience more real, Jerremy and I remove our shoes and pat each other down before every teleport. You really can't be too cautious these days.

Looking for the original Wild Boys

While I was driving to lunch today, a local radio station played the song Girls on Film and it brought back some very sweet memories. It's been a while since I searched for Duran Duran in SL, so did some wandering on the grid. Have there been any advancements in the field of "finding Duran Duran and their sexy, sexy avatars in SL"? Only that it seems that the top half of John Taylor is working as a customer service rep in the Duran Duran by Durant memorabilia shop.
 

I shall continue my search. 

Wedding SLeason

If you have an email account and use SL, then you may already know that it is "Wedding Season in SL." Since it's wedding season in RL, I suppose it can be wedding season in SL, too. 

Love in SL is enigmatic. It can be both wonderful and...disgusting. 

I found it to be wonderful when I met someone as special as Jerremy. (In fact, Jerremy and I will celebrate our two year wedding anniversary later this summer.) 

But, I found love disgusting when I logged in today to find two French speaking avatars using our "special furniture".

Very Villa

Real life is doing an awfully good job of slowing the pace of our being able to get our Moodle Bay Villas ready to rent out. However, when they are up? It's going to be so fun! I love that we'll be able to meet new people - our tenants. And the challenge of keeping them full and rented will be very interesting. So, I am doing a little dance on one of the porches. (It is a test of how fun it will be to live there.)

Is search still broken?

Tonight, I decided to play a game with myself while I waited for Jerremy to log in. (I got the idea from the delightful, Banana Vella.) The game is to type a random word into search and then  explore whatever place came up first. I chose the word 'pervert'. (What? It's a word.)

Right after I typed it, I realized that I should have unchecked the adult search option if I wanted to find someplace unique - especially for that word. But, when I looked at the results, I got a surprise:

Yes. According to search, the popular garden and landscaping shop Botanical is the most perverted place on the grid. 

I think Jerremy is going to love the new garden weasel I bought...rawr.

Fully Stocked

Earlier today on Plurk (Add me!), the fashionable and talented Rylan Carling, asked where to find a turkey baster.  Now, not to brag but ...OMG is my Second Life kitchen well stocked or what? Gawd only knows what Rylan needs it for, but it's here if she still needs one. No need to return it either.

This incident gave me the perfect opportunity to use the phrase 'Master Baster', so anything else good that happens today will just be icing on the cake.

Shabby Chic

I was looking for something to do today, so I decided to wander over to see if Paisley Beebe was going to be taping a show. The show is on a hiatus right now, so there are no new shows being taped for a few weeks, so I decided to explore the sim. A giant, colorful, shabby chic sculpture sitting on the beach behind one of the studios caught my eye. I am playing tourist here and taking my picture next to it. And, I am still looking for ways to entertain myself until Jerremy can log in.

I have been sort of driving myself crazy taking pictures lately. I am trying to get artsy fartsy because you deserve artsy fartsy. I'm learning to use The Rule of Thirds to make my pictures more interesting. Sometimes, I end up cropping my pictures down until all you can see is my eyeball in an effort to line things up. Here, I managed not to crop myself out of the picture. Enjoy.

Wanna be in a movie, kid?

Remember back when I mentioned Gnomeair Halostar and his very entertaining SL machinimas? Well, he is looking for extras for a new film project this June. You can express your interest by joining his GnomeAir Halostar group in world. They need us as close to vampires and wolves as we can get. I joined up today as soon as I heard.

Now, I cannot vouch for anything in the project - for all I know, Gnomeair might be trying to make a pr0n. So don't come crying to me when he insists on a "special audition" or something.

Chocolate with Nuts

Today, I am in dire need of chocolate. Interestingly, I happened to notice a Showcase listing for a place called the Chocolate Factory. Since that sounded pretty wonderful to me, I TP'd over. I found the perfect place to rest and take in the chocolate scented pixels (OMG I wish).

Of course, now, I am really going nuts for chocolate. Sadly, I do not have any candy in my whole house. Earlier, someone on Plurk (Add me!) mentioned eating a Tums when you crave candy. But they don't taste like chocolate and would lead to cravings for their candy doppelganger -  Sweet Tarts. 

Wish me luck as I try to turn baking chocolate, one slice of leftover pizza, an apple and a pitcher of iced tea into a yummy chocolate dessert.

You know what they say about men with big brains, don't you? They pick smart and beautiful wives. But they can also do things like script. 

I got in-world late tonight, so this is just a quick picture of me watching my husband Jerremy script our new rental villas so that the windows and doors don't all listen to the same channel. It would not be good if every time someone opened a window, every other window on every other Villa opened at the same time, too.  

My goodness, he has a sexy back.

My Hump!

I'ma get, get, get, get you drunk! Get you love drunk off my hump! 

I almost but did not totally miss it - I am at the halfway mark of my 365 'blog post per day' project! Now, technically my actual blog project hump day was Sunday. But, who wants to celebrate a hump day on a day other than Wednesday? Not me.

To be honest? The time has flown by and it has been so fun so far. My goal for the rest of the time is to have even more fun with it and bring you along for the fun.

Tym On Top

Tonight, I was in a "sitting on top of people" mood, I think. At today's trivia game, Alicia Chenaux and Runestar Twine looked so comfortable in their beanbag chair. So, I decided to see how comfy they really were. They were wonderfully supportive and yet soft. They must have been distracted. I really pounced on them and they hardly flinched.

Later, I jumped on Jerremy - who is quite comfortable and cozy.

Moodle Bay Villas

Jerremy and I are trying our hand at property rentals. I am sitting in the courtyard of Moodle Bay Villas. The Villas are super cute inside. And renters will get a good chunk of prims for decorating and skyboxes. We are starting with six of them. Watch this space for an announcement that we are open for renters.

Happy Moms' Day to all of the Moms!

Happy Mother's Day! These flowers are for you! Thank you for all you do for our future each and every day!

Jerremy and I are parents to a bouncing, prim, baby boy named Blocky, so we sort of know how much effort and love it takes to be a good parent. 

Do you know what is the biggest lesson about parenthood we have learned since making Blocky? That you need to make babies no mod if you want them to stay small and cute! (Oh, also don't name him Object. It seems funny at first, but you will never find him again.)

Y U got 2 B that way, Asset Server?

 Much to my horror, I rezzed into my house today to discover that part of my kitchen was gone.

I relogged but it was still gone. After I tried TPing around and even having LL re-start the sim, our stove and sink were still nowhere to be seen. I realized that the parts were copy, so I dug into my inventory to look for one. But for some odd reason, the part I had was the white version not the black one. I really don't remember buying a white one.

I composed myself and TPd to Del Sol to buy a replacement. But, the "Build It" kitchen components have been updated and no longer match the rest of our kitchen. Luckily, Xandi Mars, Del Sol owner, said she would sell me an old copy of the sink/stove. YAY! Happy ending.  

Sort of. I want to be mad at the asset server. I want to talk bad about it and stop sending it Christmas cards ...but I am afraid that it will take revenge on me and do something much, much worse. After all, I have been relatively lucky with asset server issues compared to some of my friends. *knocks on wood until my knuckles bleed*

Still, we shouldn't have to feel lucky that we "only lose a few things" on a regular basis.

Gorilla Your Dreams

Oh my gawd you guys! Do you know why the primate family tree split eons ago, leaving gorillas and orangutans on their own evolutionary paths? Because they refused to rez properly! I swear. Every other thing in this lush, richly detailed zoo (Zoo Neunkirchen) rezzed before they did. 

I am sure they are sorry now. After all, humans have MMORPGs and they don't. 

What's the emergency?

I saw lots of offlines about sales and fun things go into my email during the work day today. So, I knew that when I logged in I was going to have to start TPing around and shopping immediately. But, I also realized that I had logged out naked.

How does a Second Life girl-on-the-go handle this kind of emergency? With her emergency outfit folder, of course!

Today, I thought I'd show you what I wear when I need to go from XXX to PG with the click of a mouse. This is a very old outfit from ETD (which, *weep*, is closed) - a golf shirt and matching shorts. I picked it because it is low lag and looks reasonably pulled together. I have a pair of diamond stud earrings and a pair of white sneakers in the folder, too. (I never go without earrings in either life.) I am usually not bald when I log off, so I just wear whatever hair I had on. 

I know lots of you have emergency outfit folders and I am curious about what kind of outfits you keep in them. Is your 911 outfit simple or are you super stylish at all times?

Oh! Also, I wasn't able to get pictures from last night's hump day party, but Jerremy took a couple. Here we are in our costumes. Isn't he a doll? 

Impress Yourself

Hi, I am just here finishing my makeup for tonight's festivities. Alicia Chenaux is throwing a Hump Day party tonight at 7 PM SLT and the theme is "Dress to Impress...Yourself."

Now to many people that might mean super-duper sexy or super-duper fancy. My husband, Jerremy, is not one of those people. He impresses himself (and me) when he is creative. So we talked over some ideas for what to wear last night but didn't settle on anything. Mythical gods was one of the ideas - although I have no idea what we will actually end up wearing.It is kind of lucky we have absolutely everything imaginable in our inventories. We can handle any costume emergency.

If we do go as gods, I think I will be the goddess of speaking before she thinks. It has been that kind of day.

Clean-up on Aisle 2!

See? SLife is not so glamorous. Today, I went shopping at Ralp's Grocery Store. I just picked up some staples that Jerremy and I are running low on: a spatula, 6 cans of whipped cream, utility rope and a tarp. But, I just know that when I get home, I will realize I forgot something!

GnomeLight

I had the pleasure of speaking to GnomeAir Halostar regarding a note I sent him the other day after visiting his shop. (If you have not seen GnomeAir's videos and you need a laugh, I recommend them highly.) When I visited his store, I saw - much to my horror - that he was selling face/body lights. So I wrote a quick note explaining that using Windlight settings would give people better results than facelights. (The note may or may not have also blamed his facelights for causing the destruction of SLivilization as we know it.)

When he got my note, he IMd me and asked more about Windlight settings. During our talk, he sent me a shirt that he had made. I used it for a demonstration (shown in the picture above) of how things looked using a facelight vs. Windlight settings. Scary, huh? Clearly, using Windlight is superior to not using it.

So, ditch those clunky facelights, peeps! Get wise to using  Windlight settings!

I think she will like the festive colors.

I'm on a boat!!

First - I apologize about the less than artistic photo. I am getting a glitch that randomly puts black lines all over my high-resolution photos. This is the photo I was able to save. This is a pic of me taking a break from building and going on a spontaneous ferry boat ride around the mainland continent of Corsica.

I got bumped from the boat at a sim crossing after almost an hour of riding around. I got deposited right into the sea. It's a darn good thing that I can swim.
